Theme for bathroom?

My bathroom walls are this horiable flower print and look like the people before never cleaned them, I wanna paint them but need a theme first. I thought about pink roses, shells, or butterflies, Any ideas please? I live about 45 minutes from the beach is why I thought about shells.

Theme for bathroom?
I went to those people and they had a lighthouse theme in their bathroom. It was really good. May be you should consider that.
Reply:it sounds like you have wallpaper in there that needs to be stripped first.

What is your bathroom connected to? Hallway? Bedroom?

What is the rest of your house like?

My house looks tuscan, so I continued the colors and theme to my bathroom.

What color is the counter and sink? What is the floor like? How about a japanese outdoor garden look?
Reply:my girlfriend has fish in her bathroom and it is very nice

she has a shower curtain with all kinds of fish towels

with fish border fish hanging on the wall it is very colorful and she can put just about any color in there and it works.
Reply:Instead of stripping and paint the walls, you can try placing some wood planking in the room. Since it is a bathroom, you may just need about 2 pkg of 14 sq.ft. cover the surface. This may be less work than the stripping and painting. Then you can paint or keep it natural. and you can go with the beach scene or bamboo theme or any theme you may like. Good luck to you.
Reply:Well you could do themes like from other countries too, such as Asia, or Africa..those are always fun =)
Reply:I think a beachy theme would be great. You could paint the walls blue and hang pictures that have a beach scene. You could place shells and/or bowls of sea glass on top of the toilet tank and/or window sill as decorations. Maybe you could also find some towels that have a sea shell embroidered on them. I saw a cute shower curtain on the Target website (target.com) that had sea horses and ribbons...it is really cute and in keeping with the beachy/ocean theme.
Reply:I would use primer over the wallpaper (yes it can be done) and then paint it blue. Take taupe sheers and drape over the window and use starfish as the tiebacks. Take wood shelves and glue shells to the front of the shelves. Use rattan placemats as a frame for a background of roses, shells and pearls.
