Wedding color question: ivory and white mixed?

My dress is egg shell, which is not bright white, but not quite ivory, its closer to white. The top of my dress has bright white lace on it. Will it look weird if my flower girl is in a light ivory dress and my groomsmen and groom wear ivory shirts under their black ties? Will is look weird if everything is ivory but I'm more white???

Wedding color question: ivory and white mixed?
Heck no, I think that would be beautiful!!!
Reply:no its supossed to be that way!
Reply:That should be beautiful!! You are the centerpiece to your wedding, and you need to stand out! This is just suttle enough to put you in the spotlight. My only suggestion is to mix in a accent color and make it dark, like a dark burgandy, green or blue. That way nothing blends too well like if you used a soft accent color. You don't want everything to fade into the background!!
Reply:I really don't think people will notice and if they do say "I wanted my colors to be different", but you should be fine. CONGRATULATIONS!

Your wedding sounds beautiful.

Best of luck!!
Reply:yea probly
Reply:I don't think so...the bride should always stand out from her bridal party, and I think it would be beautiful to have you in white and the rest in ivory.
Reply:The bride is supposed to be more white. I think it sounds nice!
Reply:My only concern would be if in your pictures because the whites are contrasting that the people in the ivory, especially the mens shirts, will look dirty. Know what I mean? Try putting on your dress and have your mom or MOH stand next to you in a shirt or something in the same color as the ivory and see how it looks, just to be sure before you make any final decisions.
Reply:The groomsmen should wear white shirts to accent the white of your dress. The flower girl should wear a dress as close to the egg shell color or the color of your flowers.
Reply:I dont know? I'd have to see the colors together. You should get a piece of the materials and try to match it to your dress. But in my opinion if its kinda white and ivory together i dont think it will look bad at all.
Reply:Well the idea is that you would be more white than anyone else, some time ago wedding dresses only came in stark white, egg shell, ivory and the like were unheard of. However, you do seem like you have a plethora of similar but different colors going on there...I was confused reading it and I'm sure it will look confusing to see it. Try to keep the flower girl's dress as similar to yours as possible..if the top of your dress is bright white and the most prominent color, then your flower girl's dress should be bright white (avoid two-tones whenever possible). The groomsmens shirts and accessory should match your bridesmaids attire (you didn't mention them at all). Whatever is their primary color should be evident in your groomsmens shirt, vest, tie and/or boutonniere. I would strongly discourage you from having your bridesmaids in anything resembling cream, ivory or white - YOU should stand out among all others. Good luck.
Reply:No, it will look nice and in pictures you might not even be able to tell..... Ivory and white photograph as white.
Reply:Well, traditionally the bride is the only one in white.

This is to show purity. If you like ivory for your bridesmaids, then I don't see why they couldn't be in ivory with you in white. I do think that adding an accent color may be benfical though. Otherwise everything may look washed out. To may colors that are in the same shade tend to do that. Trying having the groomsmen wear ivory shirts and have the bridesmaids in a color that would accent the ivory well. Maybe a deep blue or mauve color if you are getting married in the fall. Maybe a lighter blue or peach type color if you are getting married in spring.
Reply:hi i think it would beuatiful. just wondering what you picked for your flowers?
Reply:i think its ur wedding so u need to stand out from the rest... sounds beautiful... congrats
Reply:Only you will know the difference! These colors are so close that it will not be an issue. Just enjoy yourself and remember to plan for a "Big Marriage" while you're planning your "Big Wedding". Congratulations and best wishes!
Reply:I think it sounds beautiful!!!!

At my wedding, the best man wore a black shirt with burgundy vest and tie while the groom wore a white shirt and black vest and tie. Everyone told me it would look funny but it came out beautiful. If you are really concerned about it. Try on your dress and hold the flower girls dress up to you... but I honestly think it sounds wonderful. I love the idea of an eggshell dress and light mocha colored bridesmaid dresses!
Reply:I think that would be so beautiful. It's your day do whatever you thinmk would look good.
Reply:I did the ivory thing for my wedding. I wore an ivory dress and the groom wore an ivory shirt but the rest of the guys wore white shirts and the girls wore sage dresses. I did not make anything else white besides the guys shirts. I'm not big on ivory and white together, its either one or the other. I mean that is just my opinion, I would say you either go white or ivory but there are other people who would probably say it wouldn't really matter. I even matched my decorations, nothing was white. Im sure whatever choice you make, everything will look beautiful. Congrats and Enjoy. The night flies by......
Reply:Nope. More reason for you to stand out on your big day! LOVE IT!
Reply:I don't think so, the bride should look different cause ALL eyes will b on u
Reply:no. for wut ur describing it look very pretty.
