the other day i was eating some sun lower seeds and i ate a sharp piece of one of the shells and it stabbed to my throat and hasnt seemed to have gotten out...kinda like a splinter on my throat....would it come out by itself or what should i do??? thnaks

Chances are that the sensation you are feeling is from a scratch caused by the sunflower seed. It is more likely that the seed has already been swallowed. It should start feeling better soon. If it doesn't, or of the pain worsens, get checked out by a doctor.
Reply:Nurse Nancy is probably right. The sunflower seed is probably no longer in your throat but it feels like it because it probably made a little scratch that is most likely healing now. You shouldn't worry about it. You'll be fine.
Reply:it is possible that there is nothing in your throat. you could be feeling an abrasion to the tissue -think road rash on your knees after a bike wreck.
you would need to have your throat visualized to be certain.
