Did find light weight black fitted dress with two layers of uneven flowing hemline. Quite simple - little straps and black beading ... but keep hearing negative comments about wearing black! Help. The two attendants are wearing little black dresses. Mom of groom already purchased a three piece ... black skirt, white with black flower print on shell and sheer blouse/jacket. Help!

Reply:I went shopping with my mom and helped her pick out her dress. Have your daughter do this. It will be a nice mother daughter day out together before she is married. Black is my favorite color and I am not even Goth...I wanted to have a red white and black wedding and stupidly listened to everyone that was negative and went with pink and purple LOL my 2 least favorite colors.
Reply:Get some feedback from your daughter. She might have an idea of a dress that she might want you to wear. If you feel comfortable wearing a black dress then go ahead, I am sure that your daughter can suggest something that will make it special just for you.

Reply:The dress you found sounds lovely. What if it were in a different fabric, perhaps a black %26amp; white or silver %26amp; white print in a soft sheer fabric? You are the mother of the bride? You should be the second most beautiful woman in the room. Do you have enough time to have a seamstress make your dress? She can find a pattern similar to the dress you found but use a specialty fabric of your choosing. Don't go with a suit though. It's in the VIrgin Islands, you don't want to feel stuffed into a bag and all matronly. Have a ball, shine. Congratulations. My middle daughter's colors were black and white. I found a tuxedo dress, A-line, pearl and rhinestone buttons.
Reply:I think if the black dress looks good on you, you should wear it! As long as you really like how it looks and it doesnt seem as id you're going to the funeral then, its fine. Since you are already wearing black, try not to go heavy on make up and use brighter colors. Also try some accessorize your outfit!!!

Reply:i like the sound of mom of groom outfit. You dint want to wear all black as it will make you warm. Consider an outfit of white and black either a dress or set as other mom did.
